How much credit does OVHcloud give new Public Cloud customers?
On OVHcloud's world site the free trial is US$200 of credit for one month. The amount follows your market: £175 on the UK site, €200 on the Ireland site, CA$270 in Canada and A$300 in Australia. OVHcloud US offers up to $300 over 90 days instead.
OVHcloud US splits its offer in two: “Customers will receive $200.00 (USD) in Public Cloud Credits when creating their first Public Cloud infrastructure project. An additional $100.00 (USD) in Public Cloud Credits will be applied when customers purchase their first Managed Databases service for use on Public Cloud.”
The credit is for Public Cloud only: the voucher “is only valid for the purchase of Public Cloud services provided by OVHcloud”, at “standard, non-discounted public rates”.

Who qualifies for the OVHcloud Public Cloud free trial?
Anyone who has never created a Public Cloud project. The offer applies “provided that they have not already created a Public Cloud project in the past, whether it is still active or not”, so existing OVHcloud customers qualify too. You must save a valid payment method before the trial starts.
It is one voucher per person: “A single natural or legal person can only use one voucher, even if that person has several different NIC handles.”
On OVHcloud US the test is purchases: the offer is for customers who “have not previously purchased Public Cloud services from OVHcloud and who purchase at least $0.99 (USD) of Public Cloud services from OVHcloud.”

Is there an OVHcloud promo code or voucher code?
No code to type for the free trial. On the world site you use the page's sign-up button “to get the free US$ 200 credit”, and on OVHcloud US the terms say “No code is required.” A voucher is personal: it “may not be given away, sold or transferred in any capacity whatsoever to a third party”.
The voucher is tied to the account that activates it: it “is linked to their OVHcloud NIC handle (unique ID)”, and if another handle uses it OVHcloud may “automatically cancel or terminate the services obtained as a result, without reissuing the voucher”. The terms leave no room for a bought or borrowed voucher.
OVHcloud's docs say “New customers automatically receive £175 of free trial credit when they activate their first Public Cloud project.” A voucher you do hold is redeemed in the project's Credits & Vouchers list: “Enter your voucher code in the window that appears and click on Confirm.” Vouchers are “generally valid for only one month”.
It does not stack: the voucher “cannot be used in conjunction with any other current special offers applicable to the services concerned”.

How do I claim the OVHcloud free trial?
Create an OVHcloud account, save a payment method, then create your first Public Cloud project from the free-trial page. OVHcloud says “The voucher must be activated when the holder creates their first Public Cloud project.” The balance shows under “Credit and Vouchers” in the Public Cloud section.
On OVHcloud US the credit is not instant. The terms say it is “added to eligible accounts within thirty (30) days” of the first purchase of at least $0.99. The trial page says “Your free $200 credits will automatically apply in 2 business days to your account when you meet the criteria as defined in the terms.”

What happens when the OVHcloud credit runs out or expires?
You are billed through your saved payment method: “you will be billed automatically for any future use of Public Cloud products”. Unused credit lapses. The world voucher “is valid for a period of one (1) month”, and on OVHcloud US “Any unused portion of the Public Cloud Credits will expire after the ninety (90) day validity period.”
The voucher is “non-exchangeable, non-refundable, and non-redeemable, even partially”, and it “can only be used for one Public Cloud project”, though it can be used “in one or more instalments”. It excludes “free offers and free beta testing services”.

How is the free trial different from the OVHcloud Startup Program?
They are separate offers. The free trial is a one-off voucher you activate when you create your first Public Cloud project. The Startup Program is a separate program with its own page, and OVHcloud's trial page points to it: “Do you need more than a cloud computing free trial for your start-up?”
